The gauge is 18 km downstream of the source.
There is a Coles and Woolworths supermarket beside the river.
Large rural town sitting on the QLD side of the border. The NSW-QLD border follows the Macintyre River upstream for another 30.1 km before it heads east following the Dumaresq River.
There are a couple of supermarkets in town.
There is a SPAR in town for supplies (small supermarket).
There is a Foodtown in town for supplies (small supermarket).
Known for the Brewarrina Fish Traps, Bre is also a common starting point for those paddling the Darling River. There is a Foodworks and local general store in town.
The old wharf was having a bit of a facelift when I passed through. It is a popular spot for the local kids in summer and the grey nomads in winter. It is only a short walk to the IGA in town.
