Tantangara Reservoir (254GL)

Tantangara is a reservoir for Lake Eucumbene that is part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme network of dams. Water from Lake Eucumbene either makes its way naturally down to the south east coast via the Snowy River, or it is fed back into the Tumut and Murray hydro-electric power stations.

Berembed Weir is a heritage-listed reservoir on the Murrumbidgee River at Matong, near Wagga Wagga.

There are two weirs here, the main new weir and the old heritage-listed weir built in 1929 on the left hand side channel. Primary purpose is to help regulate irrigation diversions.

The Gogeldrie Weir is a heritage-listed weir near Narrandera built in 1959 for irrigation purposes.

Portage on the left though take care on the narrow track if using a trolley.

The weir was built in 1940 for irrigation and water supply.

I did a portage on the left.

One of the larger weirs in terms of height built for irrigation purposes.

Portage to the right and there is a moderately steep bank downstream.

If the gates are locked, it is a difficult portage over the fence beside the weir itself. The residential house and driveway 500 m upstream is private property.

Low level weir built for irrigation and town water.

Portage is fairly easy along the access road on the right.
